Daikin approved · F-Gas certified · London

Air conditioning for London homes.

Proper residential cooling for the summer, reversible for shoulder-season warmth. Wall-mounted, ceiling cassette or concealed ducted — Daikin-approved and installed to manufacturer standards.

What we fit

Split, multi-split, or concealed ducted.

A modern residential air conditioning system uses a refrigerant circuit between an outdoor unit (the condenser) and one or more indoor units. Reversible models give you cooling in summer and an efficient heat top-up in spring and autumn.

Single split for a single room — a bedroom, home office or loft conversion. One outdoor unit, one wall-mounted indoor unit, discreet cable run. Multi-split for covering several rooms from one condenser — ideal for flats where outdoor space is limited. Ducted where you want the indoor units concealed in a ceiling void, leaving only a slot grille visible.

We specify Daikin as our primary manufacturer — the build quality, part availability and quiet operation are unmatched at the residential end of the market. We also fit Mitsubishi Electric and Panasonic where a client has a preference.

Why Thermalwerk for air con

Residential-first thinking. Proper F-Gas work. Finishes that don't look like an afterthought.

F-Gas certified.

Every engineer handling refrigerant is F-Gas qualified. Installations are documented and certified — a legal requirement most homeowners don't know exists until their installer cuts the corner.

Residential-quiet units.

We specify indoor units with sound levels low enough for a bedroom — typically under 24 dB(A) on low fan. Your neighbour won't hear the outdoor unit either.

Clean cable runs.

Trunking matched to your wall finish, routes agreed before we start, chases into plaster where the finish demands it. The outdoor unit is sited where it belongs, not whichever wall was easiest.

Pressure-tested properly.

Every pipework run tested with nitrogen to 40 bar, evacuated with a two-stage vacuum pump to the manufacturer's specification. Not "run the fan and hope". You'll get a written commissioning certificate.

Smart controls included.

Daikin Online Controller fitted and set up on your Wi-Fi as standard. Schedule zones, adjust from your phone, monitor energy use. No extra cost.

5-year warranty.

Full manufacturer warranty registered on your behalf. We do the paperwork. Annual servicing keeps you covered for the whole period.

Common questions

Straight answers to the questions we get on every survey.

How much does air conditioning cost?

A single-room split system typically sits between £2,200 and £3,200 fitted. A whole-home multi-split covering four or five rooms runs £7,000 to £14,000 depending on the property. Ducted installations start higher because of the ceiling works involved. A home survey gives you a fixed price.

Do I need planning permission?

Usually no — outdoor units fall under permitted development in most of Greater London, provided they meet siting and noise criteria. Flats and conservation areas are different. We check the rules for your specific address before quoting.

Can it heat as well as cool?

Yes. All the units we fit are reversible — they work as efficient heaters in spring and autumn. Not a replacement for your main heating system in deep winter, but useful as a top-up for a home office or chilly corner of the house.

How long does install take?

A single split goes in in one working day. A multi-split with four indoor units takes two to three. Ducted systems are longer because of the ceiling and bulkhead work, which we coordinate with a plasterer or your builder.

Two Daikin units fitted across an open-plan living space. Clean cable runs, properly commissioned, works brilliantly. Glad we waited for them.

Kensington · Air conditioning

They came out on a Saturday morning for a boiler no-heat call. Found the issue in twenty minutes, fixed it in under an hour, did not upsell anything.

Hackney · Emergency repair

Replaced our old combi with a heat pump. Quiet, much cheaper to run, and the team left the plant room tidier than they found it.
